Not once when I've been lucid have I thought I was out of my body.
The thought was, "I am dreaming".
Similarly, not once when I've been OBE have I thought I am dreaming -
the thought was, "I'm out of my body".
So there's no confusion in the doing of them.
The similarity is that both can be reached through the dreaming attention.
If you've read "the art of dreaming", the transition between dreaming and obe is when you see your body lying there.
So technically, one can say that obe is a gate of dreaming, or that dreaming is a way to access obe states. But obe can happen without any intent on the initial dreaming gates.
Why does it matter?
Why do you care what people think about dreaming?
