recapitulation isn't a hard technique or wishy washy at all..
its looking on your past with openness and looking at it for exactly what it is.... an interaction... one that could have gone many ways...
the idea of recap .. is to look at all the possible possibilities that you can think of for each scenario you've previously experienced.... its more than that.. but that helps to start.
