i don't think you can say that just because your joints crack, you have successfully done the movement. i used to think that after i did a certain series of movements and i got a shiver down my back, i did them right...and then i was told that i was seeking a routine.
Just be careful if/when you crack your joints, and you feel pain or discomfort, STOP! i used to do that when i was stretching during the day and it contributed to some major arm problems.
