YES!!!! Why let yourself be open to interpretations of original work? It's just like the different versions of the bible. Every author makes their own interpretation and people follow it. How fucked up is that!
Do you know how many times that i've been told that i'm close-minded after discussing (indirectly of course) the Path? No, i should read books about chi, tarot, alchemy, witchcraft, philosophy...I used to be into philosophy, but i realized that it was just weird to follow some dork's ideas when the directives of the Spirit were all that mattered. And Castaneda's books are a blueprint for most things on the Path. Sure, not everything is clear as we'd like it to be, his writing can be very abstract. Questions are answered in a non-direct way or turn into an answer to another question. Why respond to this in our usual fashion of having to know everything about what happened or why it happened. Why can't we just do? Why go to another author whose motives are suspicious? Are they warriors/seers/sorcerers? If you wanted to learn how to play the piano, would you go to law school?
