Lakota, una comunidad india de USA con ciertos privilegios, ha abierto un banco donde solo se admite monedas de oro y plata, y además no funciona bajo el sistema de reserva fraccionaria, es decir el dinero no se "duplica" para prestarlo y está siempre todo disponible en el deposito. Es la segunda iniciativa de este tipo en USA. La primera fue hostigada por la Reserva Federal, que tiene el monopolio de billetes y mondea fiduciaria, pero los banqueros de Lakota aseguran que están en su derecho por los privilegios especiales de la región.
