We are definitely on a very different path than any of the sorcerers of Carlos's lineage. The majority of us will never be chosen by a nagual. But the description of Carlos, Florinda and Taisha's tutelage is packed to the gills with useful information that obviously shouldn't be ignored by those who find it compelling.

The very quote that you posted, OldDog, brings that statement to the forefront of our awareness. It seems to be a cautionary note. It seems to me to directly tell us to be aware of our tendency to have expectations when taking any new direction in our lives, and how those expectations can be a major stumbling block.
